Fanfare Adds Two New Executives to Management Team
Appointments of Peter Szalay and Doug Ertz Boost Fanfare's Momentum as the Global Demand
for Device and System Testing Solutions Grows
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.-June 5, 2008- Fanfare, delivering innovative testing solutions to network equipment manufacturers (NEMs) and service providers (SPs), today announced the executive appointments of Peter Szalay to vice president of the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, and Doug Ertz to vice president of strategic accounts. Both will report to Craig Lewis, vice president of worldwide field operations.
Szalay will lead Fanfare's growing APAC initiative in response to the increasing global demand for device and system testing solutions. Earlier this year, Fanfare announced the addition of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) of Japan to its customer list, and expects to sign additional customers in the region over the coming months.
Szalay will also manage global relationships between Fanfare's NEM and service provider (SP) customers, who are relying on Fanfare's iTestâ„¢ Team suite of products to seamlessly share test assets with one another. This mutually beneficial relationship forms a quality link between suppliers and their customers, improving product quality and speeding the deployment of new equipment and services to market.
Szalay brings over 23 years of industry and entrepreneurial experience in the telecommunications and semiconductor markets to his new post at Fanfare. Most recently, he served as vice president of business development and alliances at SupportSoft, where he was instrumental in developing the company's business in Asia.
"APAC holds explosive growth potential for Fanfare," said Szalay. "In a region that is known for keeping costs down, it is telling that more and more companies there are turning to Fanfare for powerful testing tools. This represents a very real turning point in the market."
Ertz will lead Fanfare's strategic global accounts program, which includes some of the company's largest customers. He will also oversee other existing and future key customer relationships in North America, EMEA and APAC.
Ertz brings over 20 years of experience to Fanfare, leading sales teams and strategic initiatives at the vice president and director levels with major enterprise solution providers such as SAP America, Manugistics, and Cadence Design Systems.
"I'm very excited to be joining Fanfare at such an exciting stage of the company's evolution," said Ertz. "Cisco is a market leader that has benefitted from implementing Fanfare solutions in 10 of its business units. I'm looking forward to building on this relationship and expanding into other business units to build a cohesive quality strategy that will provide the company with an exceptional return on investment."
"The creation of two new executive-level positions signals Fanfare's entry into a new phase of growth," said Tom Ryan, president of Fanfare. "As a trusted partner to NEMs and SPs around the world, Fanfare brings real value to the testing process. More and more companies are realizing that Fanfare is the missing link in the value chain. Having a team dedicated to accelerating and facilitating this critical link will be invaluable to our customers and to the industry at large."
