Fanfare Appoints Tom Ryan as CEO
Software Industry Veteran Brings More Than 20 Years of Experience and a Successful Track Record as a CEO
Mountain View, California - June 26, 2006 -The Fanfare Group, Inc., delivering world-class testing solutions for companies developing high-tech equipment, today announced the appointment of Tom Ryan as chief executive officer (CEO). Also announced today was the launch of Fanfare and the company's flagship product, FanfareSVT. Prior to joining Fanfare, Ryan was president and CEO of Actional Corporation, a leading provider of Web services management (WSM) software that was recently acquired by Progress Software. Ryan brings more than 20 years of enterprise software experience, strong leadership credentials, and a proven track record of success to his new post at Fanfare.
As CEO, Ryan will be responsible for the overall strategic direction and management of Fanfare, and will focus on driving widespread market adoption of Fanfare's breakthrough test automation software products, including flagship product FanfareSVT. Ryan succeeds Fanfare founder, Kingston Duffie, who will now focus on his role as chief technology officer (CTO). Tom's arrival fulfills Kingston's original vision of bringing in a world-class enterprise software leader to accelerate the development and growth of the equipment testing market.

Ryan led the October 2004 merger of Actional with Westbridge, which set the stage for the recent acquisition of Actional Corporation by Progress Software. Prior to Westbridge, Ryan was senior vice president of global field operations at Kintana, a leading provider of IT governance and management software that was acquired by Mercury Interactive. Ryan also held an executive management position at Manugistics Group where he grew the company's software and services revenues to more than $200 million annually. Ryan has also served as senior vice president at Talus, and was vice president of North American regional sales for Cadence Design Systems where here grew revenues to $500 million annually. He has held engineering and management positions at Parker Hannifin Corp. and Grumman Aerospace.
