iTest 4.0 Changes the Game for Device and  System Testing With Graphical Topologies, Simplifying Automation and Accelerating Time to Market

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – May 12, 2010 – Fanfare, delivering innovative testing solutions to service providers (SPs), network equipment manufacturers (NEMs), and enterprises, today announced iTest® 4.0, the company's flagship test automation product.

iTest is an integrated test authoring and automation platform built for testers, developers, and automation teams. It provides a unified approach for rapidly developing, automating, and maintaining test cases. iTest 4.0 includes significant advancements that facilitate team workflow and make automation even faster and easier for non-scripters.

“iTest 4.0 takes device and system testing to the next level and is truly changing the playing field for what is possible with automation,” said Greg Fairbanks, director of product marketing at Fanfare. “We are pleased to offer our customers a number of exciting and powerful new features that will simplify testing and shorten time to market, positively impacting their bottom lines.”

One of many new powerful features in iTest 4.0 is the Activity-Based User Interface (UI), which streamlines controls around a set of common activities, allowing users to focus on common tasks for rapid testing and automation. In addition, critical testing information is now available through a Centralized Reporting Database. Managers and executives can now easily access key testing data, providing valuable insight into quality release process.  Also new, is a Graphical Topology component which provides testers with a visual testbed. This drag and drop-enabled graphical representation, combined with the ability to connect instantly to any device, provides a simple way to run the same test case by a different team or against different equipment.

“Fanfare has made a huge step forward with the new topology feature in 4.0,” said Bill Baker, DVT Engineer for Enterprise Networks at ADTRAN. “At a glance, I can now easily understand the setup requirements for even our most complex system tests. The ability to right click on a device icon and connect immediately by Web, Telnet or other means is very powerful.  We’re also seeing a big benefit from the fact that our tests can now access key device data from the topology without having an active connection to the device.”

These new features are designed to further accelerate the testing cycle and boost productivity, allowing product testing to keep pace with product development while enhancing quality.

iTest 4.0 also offers support for Adobe Flash technology.

Existing Fanfare customers with current maintenance or subscription licenses are able to upgrade to iTest 4.0. Annual subscription rates start at $1,700.

iTest 4.0 is now generally available. A demo and a full list of features can be found at http://www.fanfaresoftware.com/itest4-0
