Twitter™ Integration

This application adds a new "Twitter" session type to iTest that can be used to send Twitter tweets from iTest. Twitter's functionality can then be utilized to turn these tweets into "broadcast" SMS/text messages.

Usage Overview

This application uses the Twitter platform as a mechanism for sending Twitter tweets from iTest that can be relayed as SMS/text messages. This requires the creation of Twitter account(s); one Twitter account is required specifically to send tweets (iTest Sender Account). Regular Twitter users can then subscribe to the iTest Sender Account to get tweets from this account.

Using Twitter as a platform gives users access to built-in control management features provided by Twitter such as:

• the ability to opt-in/out by following Twitter users
• control of whether or not tweets are sent as texts to mobile phones
• control over the time during which tweets are received (for example, disable receiving tweets between 11pm and 7am)

Installation Instructions

This application is provided as a packaged update that can be installed directly into iTest using the "Software Updates" functionality.
