The Network Topology Discovery Tool automatically discovers the logical (i.e. layer-3) topology of your network, including network devices and their types, connections between devices, and available network services. The discovered topology is ready to use in iTest.
To activate the Network Topology Discovery Tool select "New > iTest > Discover Topology" wizard.
The Network Topology Discovery Tool produces a TBML topology file that contains all of the devices and device connections for a specified IP range.
The user has access to discovery parameters to achieve a balance between accuracy and performance. The discovered network devices have a device type with corresponding icon, network name, and a list of session profiles for available network services.
This tool detects the following network services:
The Network Topology Discovery Tool also adds a context menu action for the Topology Editor to discover network services for a selected device.
This application is provided as a packaged update that can be installed directly into iTest using the "Software Updates" functionality.
