Test Executor & Test Suite Reporting
This feature adds three exciting pieces of functionality to iTest:
- A new "Execute Tests" activity for easy selection and execution of tests. No more need to open a test case or enter the “Develop a Test Case" activity.
- The ability to execute test suites without needing to create and schedule a job file or leave iTest so it can be started via iTestRT (which cannot run web tests).
- The generation of test reports for any test suite that has been run.
When you add this application to iTest, you get a new "Execute Tests" activity in the ActivityUI. This activity will let you easily select test cases and test suites for execution. When you execute them, it generates an “Execution Report” in your test report database. Export this and show it to anyone you’d like.
This feature also includes test suite reporting. A missing piece of test suite execution was the lack of reporting. Now whenever you execute a test suite in iTest, a test report is generated and inserted into your test report database.
Usage Overview
For test execution:
- Start iTest and go into the “iTest Activities” perspective
- Select “Execute Tests”
- Select test case(s) and test suite(s) and click the execute button.
For test suite report generation:
- When this application is installed, test suites will automatically have test reports generated for them. Users don’t need to do anything.
Installation Instructions
This application is provided as a packaged update that can be installed directly into iTest using the "Software Updates" functionality.

Known Issues
Individually specified parameters work normally for test cases; however, test suites will add parameters from the parameter file first followed by the individual parameters, so values will not be overridden as expected.
