File Transfer Client

This application adds a “File Transfer” session type to iTest which can be used to transfer files between the client and a server. It currently supports FTP protocol, and support for SCP and SFTP is planned in the future.

Usage Overview

Similar to all iTest session types, the file transfer session can be started from a session profile, a testbed, or opened directly from a test case. The user needs to fill in the following session properties: hostname or IP address of the server, login, and password.

At the moment, the file transfer client has only a command line interface, but a GUI interface is in the works. The commands are very similar to that of standard FTP protocol, with a few additions. After starting the file transfer session, one will see a console view on the screen (double-click it to maximize). At the prompt, type “help” or “?” to see the full list of commands.

Installation Instructions

This application is provided as a packaged update that can be installed directly into iTest using the "Software Updates" functionality.
